Jenny Chao
Jenny has always been fascinated by the living human experience and what it means to embody an inspired, holistic lifestyle. As a guide and teacher for the practices of yoga, meditation, breathwork and sound, Jenny’s intention is to support others in innate self-connection to ignite deeper understanding and self-agency to one’s own living experience. She recognizes that these contemplative practices are invaluable tools for navigating life so that it feels well aligned and truly authentic; widening a person’s capacity for compassion, peacefulness and an integrated experience in this lifetime as a human. Versed in various modalities, Jenny’s offerings have successfully empowered clients and students to positively transform their health and well-being, in mind, body and spirit.
She discovered the yoga practice as a teenager who was interested in meditation and has been engaged in continued self-inquiry ever since. As someone who has managed years of chronic pain, moved through various debilitating health conditions and struggled with depression in the past, Jenny believes that one of the greatest gifts that mindfulness practices connect us with is our ability to heal and thrive through self discovery and living in alignment with our authentic values, beliefs and choices. Threading the wisdom of ancient practices through her modern lens, she strives to hold non-judgemental space for her fellow humans to understand and own their innate nature and essence.
Jenny has been sharing yoga and mindfulness practices in the New York City metro area and virtually online to private clients, public groups and corporate companies through 1:1’s, classes, special events, workshops and retreats for 10+ years and has been a practicing student for over 2 decades. She is a member of the New York Nike Well Collective Trainer team, a teacher trainer (registered YACEP, ERYT) and holds thousands of hours of training in various movement and meditation modalities. As a certified Yoga Therapist (registered C-IAYT), her work continues to be inspired by the main reason she started teaching: to support people in (re)discovering their spiritual connection, self understanding and innate healing, while (re)learning to be fully present, integrated and accepting in their life and experience. Jenny recognizes that at the heart of what mindfulness practices reveal is that we are each our own greatest teacher. She is simply a guide, channeling the traditional teachings to support you in your pathway back home to yourself and to live in joyful harmony with what you believe your truest life to be.
